Jeanne Joy Hartnagle-Taylor

Jeanne Joy Hartnagle-Taylor is the third of four generations to enjoy a lifetime association with Australian Shepherds. From the time she was a small child, she saw and used the breed in the environment for which it was originally intended.

Jeanne Joy has done much for the promotion of Aussies by exhibiting at livestock events, fairs and rodeos, and by writing various articles for publications such as Western Horseman and Cattleman. She also developed the highly acclaimed stock-dog training video series, Herding I, II, and III (Canine Training Systems). All About Aussies was nominated for a Dog Writer’s Award.

Jeanne Joy has titled Aussies in all areas of competition. She has been in the top ten at the National Stock Dog Finals with her Working Trial Champion, and she has entertained thousands of spectators with Agility and Flyball demonstrations at state fairs with the Superdog Agility Show.

Jeanne Joy was the breeder of the winning entry at the First Stock Dog Futurity, and along with her family was the first kennel admitted into the Australian Hall of Fame for breeding a standard of excellence.

She is an accredited ASCA Conformation and Stock-Dog Judge, and an AKC Herding Judge.
